September 11th Golfnut News

24 Golfnuts participated in the Hooters World Championship

16 Golfnuts traveled to Eagle Ridge in May



8 golfers teed up on Sunday. The weather was ideal and some good golf was played by everyone. There were numerous birdies starting with Kevin Andrews on #2, Rick Kirkbride # 5, Jeff Pulfer #10, Fred Girardini #17 and Steve McDowell # 6 and 10. Tony King posted the low score of 81. The Park District has either ruined or shut down all of the public courses which doesn't leave us anywhere to play so we will call it a year. CYA Soon, Tony

Steve had multiple birdies on 12 and 17

12 golfers teed it up this week at Donovan on a perfect day. Tony King captured medalist honors with a 78 and a birdie on #2. Tim McClintick chipped in on #7 for birdie and shot of the day. Rick Kirkbride birdied #12 and Steve McDowell was sensational on the back nine with a 38 and birdies on #12 & 17. We have 2 tee times starting at 8:20 am at Donovan and we have no openings.

Kevin Andrews returned to action after his nuptuals and posted a birdie on # 2. Steve McDowell posted birdies on 13 & 16 with an impressive 38 on the back 9. 24 golfers teed it up at Donovan for the 10th Hooters 2 man scramble. Ryan Samp and EZ Bill swept the field with a 66. Gary Toubeau and Rick Farnan were runner ups with a 70. Fred Girardini was closest to the pin on #3. Steve McDowell won the long drive on # 4. Tim McClintick nailed the longest putt on # 9 and Mickey Winkler stuck it close on #14 for the hole prizes. Selection Sunday at Hooters




12 golfers teed it up this Sunday under ideal conditions at Donovan GC. 2003 World champions Dave Tealbey and Tony King shared medalist honors with scores of 81. Dave birdied #15 and Fred Girardini had the only other birdie on #2. The 10th Annual Hooter's World Tournament will be next Sunday at Donovan GC starting at 9:24 am. August 7th Goflnut News

The Hooters World Championship is August 14th


2011 teams will be selected this Sunday at Hooters

15 golfers teed it up on a hot and humid Sunday at Kellogg for the final round of 2011. Kellogg GC will be closed until June 2012. The group moves to Donovan for the remainder of the year. Tim McClintick shot a 76 ( 38-38) for medalist honors. Jerry Schraeder and and Rick Kirkbride birdied #15, Joe Wenzel birdied # 7, and Tony King birdied #14. We will travel to Hooters for Selection Sunday following golf where all 2011 tournament players will be rated and the 2 man scramble teams will be selected. We have 3 tee times this Sunday at Donovan starting at 8:20 am and we have no openings.

7 golfnuts showed up to play today but thunder and lightening followed by a severe thunderstorm prevented play for the day. We will play at Kellogg for the final time of 2011 due to the course closing for renovations. We will be moving to Donovan effective August 7th for the remaining golf season. Tim, George & Tony enjoy some Las Vegas golf at Black Mountain








New dad and past Hooters World Champion Brett King returns to Peoria with grandson Graham to play some golf with the Golfnuts






Rick Kirkbride shot a career best 75 with birdies on 3,5 & 7 where he chipped in from twenty yards. Tim, Benny and Tony joined George Lange at the Legacy GC and Black Mountain GC in Henderson Nevada for some desert golf and relaxation. The Hooters World Championship is filling up fast and there are still several people that I have not heard from. We have 19 players at this time so don't delay. Please let me know either way if you are available to play.
We have 3 tee times for next Sunday starting at 8:20 am and we have 5 openings.

12 golfers teed up on beautiful Sunday followed by a board meeting at Hooters. Tim McClintick took medalist honors with a 78 and a birdie on #4. Fred Girardini was showing off for his son-in-law posting 2 birdies on 6 & 15 while Tim Roscoe was able to birdie # 11. Steve McDowell posted 2 birdies on 1 and 15. Gary Toubeau scrambled out of trouble on # 6 for a birdie and Tony King finished his round with a birdie on 18. Reno stuck his tee shot close on # 7 but missed the putt. Tony, Tim and Benny head to Las Vegas this weekend to join fellow golfnut George Lange for a few rounds of Nevada golf. We have 3 tee times starting at 8:20 am and there are 3 openings. July 3rd Golfnut News

Fred Girardini was white hot on the back shooting a 38 with 2 birdies

14 golfers teed it up Sunday. The scores were higher than the temperature with 3 golfers shooting 83 for a share of the medalist honors. Jerry Schraeder birdied 3 & 9, Fred Girardini had birdies on 15 & 16 and Tony King all shot 83. Dusty Masching recovered from a bad tee shot on 17 by chipping in for birdie and Benny Hayes (10) and Rick Kirkbride (16) also posted birdies. We have 4 tee times next Sunday at Kellogg starting at 8:20 and we have 3 openings. There will be a board meeting following golf on July 10th at Hooters.

June 26th Golfnut News

EZ Bill enjoyed a round of golf with his sons.




It was a memorable Father's Day as Tony King shot 74 with 3 birdies.


11 golfers teed it up on Father's Day Sunday. The overcast skies frightened a few fair weather golfers away but the day turned out perfect for some great scores. Tony King shot 74 with a 34 on the back nine that included birdies on 11,12 & 14 for medalist honors. He nearly aced the 200 yard par 3 number 12 with his tee shot rolling a foot past the hole. Tim McClintick and Dan Kirwan both shot 77. Tim birdied # 6 and Dan had birdies on 12 & 13. Mickey Winkler posted a 4 on # 2 for the only other birdie of the day. We have 4 tee times starting at 8:20 and we have 1 opening.

May 22nd Golfnut News

Bill Leroy and Tim McClintick both eagled # 14 at the General







A great time was had by all at the General at Eagle Ridge





16 golfers traveled to Galena for another great golf outing at Eagle Ridge Resort . Tim McClintick and Bill Leroy both eagled number 14 at the General. Tim drove the green and sank the putt for his eagle. Bill found the tight fairway and hit his second shot into the hole from about 150 yards. The group traveled to Diamond Joes in Iowa where Frank Bradley heated up the dice table. Ryan Samp posted 3 birdies at the North course on Sunday and Tony King had a hat trick of birdies at the General on Monday. George Lange traveled from Las Vegas for the annual trip. We have 3 tee times starting at 8:20 am and we are full.

A week of rain has led to golf course closings and no riding carts allowed

14 golfers teed up on a warm and very windy Sunday morning. Most scores were higher than normal due to the high winds and extreme gusts but some golfnuts managed to put up red numbers. Reno started things off with a birdie on #2, Bill Haas birdied #7, And Ryan Samp posted 2 birdies on 4 & 18 to help his medalist score of 79. Six golfers teed up on a warm and windy spring Sunday morning. The warm temperatures led to some hot shooting by Jeff Pulfer with back to back birdies on # 5 and 6.
