The Kellogg golfnuts begin their 15th season. We are a group who like to play golf and enjoy each others company on and off the course. We have an annual 4 man scramble tournament in August that is unofficially sponsored by Hooters which is our official dining site. We also take an annual golf trip to Eagle Ridge in Galena IL

September 12th Golfnut News
Seven golfers teed it up Sunday morning. It was a perfect day for golf. Steve McDowell shot a 77 with birdies on 2 and14 for medalist honors. Dan Sordelet birdied 14, and Bill Haas # 7 for the only birdies of the day. Brett King flies in from Huntington Beach to join the group on Sunday. We have 2 tee times for next Sunday at Donovan starting at 7:20 am. Let me know if you want to play. We have 1 opening.

September 5th Golfnut News
9 golfers teed it up Sunday morning. It was a little breezy but the weather was perfect for golf. Tony King shot a 78 for medalist honors. Dan Sordelet birdied 5, Reno King (8) and Bill Haas (1) for the only birdies of the day. Reno takes the shot of the day with his approach on number 8 that stopped inches from the cup. Tim Stiel joined the group and posted an 86. We have 3 tee times for next Sunday at Kellogg starting at 8:10 am. Let me know if you want to play. We have 4 openings

Only 6 shots separated the 1st and 12th place team. Ryan Samp and John Fleming edged out Benny Hayes and Rick Kirkbride in a scorecard playoff. Both team shot 68 but the tie was broken on the number one handicap hole which Ryan and John birdied. Tony and Billy King finished a distant 3rd at 69. Team B.King/T.King won the longest drive, Team Kirwan/Leroy won closest to the pin on 7 and Team McClintick/Floyd on 17 and Team Fleming/Samp won longest putt. Only six golfers braved the perfect conditions today to play Kellogg. Tony King was medalist shooting 79 with a birdie on 6. Dan Sordelet was one shot back with birdies on 2 & 15. Billy King birdied the tough number 4 and Jeff Pulfer birdied # 2. Selection Sunday will begin immediately following golf at Hooters. Next Sunday August 22nd is Reno's birthday. We have 3 tee times for next Sunday starting at 8:20 am and there are 2 openings.

Hooters World Champion Dave Tealbey finished second in C Flight in the Mens City Tournament at Newman GC12 golfers teed it up on a breezy Sunday. Dan Kirwan captured medalist honors with a 75 with birides on 4 &18. Tim McClintick birdied 8 with a wedge shot within inches of the hole for the shot of the day and Benny Hayes birdied # 5 for the final bird of the day. The Hooters World Championship is August 29th. 15 golfers teed it up on Sunday. The birds were flying at Kellogg with a total of 15. Dan Kirwan captured medalist honors with a 75 and 3 birides on 6,9 and 18. Tim McClintick posted 4 birdies on 3,6,13 and 18. Gary Toubeau had back to back birdies on 14 and 15. Dan Sordelet had birdies on 6 & 13. Other birdie shooters were Rick Farnan (18), Steve McDowell (1), Mickey Winkler (13) and Dave Tealbey on number 3 where he nearly holed out leaving his apparach shot inches from a hole in one for the shot of the day. The Hooters World Championship will be held August 29th. We have 4 tee times next Sunday starting at 8 am. We have 2 openings.
