September 1st Golfnut News

 2013 World Champions shot a 10 under 61 to capture the title

Seven 4 man teams teed it up at Donovan GC for the 12th Annual Hooters World Championship Scramble. Only 4 strokes separated the 1st from the 7th place team. The winning team of Steve McDowell, Frank Bradley, Neal Pearson and Tony King shot a 61 to capture the crown. Two teams finished at 9 under 62 and a score card playoff decide the runner up team of Ryan Samp, Reno, Bill Leroy and Bob Kooy.
Tim McClintick nearly holed his tee shot on #14 for an ace missing my an inch (6 inches according to Susan Hayes). Doyle Collins was white hot capturing closest to the pin on 3 and longest putt on 8. Ryan Samp won longest drive and Dan Kirwan took longest putt on 12. Gary Toubeau traveled from California to play with the group. August 25th Golfnut News - Hooters World Championship

Will Dan Kirwan be the next Hooters World Champion

13 golfers teed it up on Sunday at Donovan GC. Tim McClintick was white hot shooting a 77 with 3 birdies on 1,8 and 10. He nearly chipped in on 10 for an eagle. Tony King posted a 78 with birdies on 9 and 13. Mickey got hot on the back 9 and took the Stableford 1st place followed by 2nd place Rick Farnan who birdied 12. Tim McClintick and Doyle Collins took closest to the pin honors again on 3 and 14. Doyle also birdied 6. Other birdie shooters were Bill Haas who chipped in on #1, Jerry Schraeder #5 and Dave Tealbey #16. 28 golfers will fight for the title of 2013 world champions this Sunday.

August 18th Golfnut News

 Tim, Frank and Benny enjoy a great day of golf

13 golfers teed up on Sunday at Donovan. Ideal conditions led to some nice scores. Tony King and Tim McClintick shot 77 to share medalist honors. Tony chipped in for birdie on 8 and Tim birdied 8 and nearly holed his tee shot on 14 for a 2 and closest to the pin honors. Steve McDowell shot 79 with a birdie on 14. Frank Bradley started his round with a birdie on #1 and shot 39 on the front. Doyle Collins was closest to the pin on #3 and made the birdie putt. Rick Kirkbride and Rick Farnan posted birdies on 12 and 13 respectively. We have 4 tee times on Sunday at Donovan starting at 8 am and we have 4 openings.

August 4th Golfnut News

Benny Hayes was the big winner on Sunday with 2 birdies (owls)

13 golfers teed it up at Donovan GC on Sunday. Cool and windy conditions created a challenging course. Tim McClintick took medalist honors with an 82 which included birdies on 5 and 8. Benny Hayes posted birdies on 4 and 10 to capture first place ( only in America) and 2nd went to Mickey Winkler and 3rd went to Rick Farnan. Steve McDowell and Joe Wenzel zeroed in on the closest to the pin competition. A "bored" meeting followed golf at Hooters.

We will select the 4 man teams on August 18th and the Hooters world championship will be played on August 25th. Invites will be sent out soon.

We are back to Kellogg on Sunday starting at 8 am and we have 2 openings.

July 28th Golfnut News

11 Golfnuts teed it up on Sunday under ideal conditions. Dusty was white hot shooting a 73 with birdies on 8,10 and 15 taking 1st place in the Stableford. Jerry Schraeder carded 15 pars and shot 77 for 2nd place. Bob Kooy birdied number 8 and shot a respectable 81 for 3rd. Tim McClintick and Bob Kooy took closest to pin rewards on 7 and 17. Reno chipped in on 14 for birdie. Joe Wenzel played 11 perfect for a birdie and Rick Kirkbride birdied number 13. Tony, Ben and Tim traveled to Las Vegas for 3 days of golf with Nevada golfnut George Lange. We have 3 tee times at Donovan GC this Sunday starting at 8 am and we have no openings.

July 14th Golfnut News

The Hooters World Championship is August 25th

10 golfers teed it up on Sunday at Kellogg. Steve Mc Dowell and Tony King shot 78 to tie for medalist honors. Steve took 1st place in the Stableford and was closest to the pin on 17. Fred Girardini was white hot posting the only birdie of the day on #6 and 2nd in the Stableford. Tony and Benny tied for 3rd. Rick Kirkbride was closest to the pin on #7. We move to Donovan this Sunday starting at 8 am. A board meeting was held after golf and we selected Hooters as the official site for the World Chammpionship. We have 3 tee times and we have 3 openings

July 7th Golfnut News

 The Golfnuts will hold a board meeting this Sunday at the site of this year's World Championship.
Will it be Hooters or Tilted Kilt?
 
World Tournament is August 25th
 
11 golfers teed it up on Sunday at Donovan GC. Dave Tealbey took medalist honors with a 77 which included birdies on 3 and 4. He also captured 1st place in the Stableford. Tim McClintick birdied #9 and shot 37 on the back nine to capture second. Steve McDowell took 3rd and was closest to the pin on #3. Bob Kooy had the only other birdie on 17 with a chip in. Tony King was closest on #14. We return to Kellogg GC starting at 8 am this Sunday. We have 5 openings
We will travel to the site of this year's restaurant after golf.
