The Kellogg golfnuts begin their 15th season. We are a group who like to play golf and enjoy each others company on and off the course. We have an annual 4 man scramble tournament in August that is unofficially sponsored by Hooters which is our official dining site. We also take an annual golf trip to Eagle Ridge in Galena IL

October 17th Golfnut News
Seven golfers teed it up on Sunday and the weather was perfect again. Tony King was medalist with a 78 and he birdied number 2. Steve McDowell posted back to back birdies on 3 & 4 and Dan Sordelet added his birdie on number 8. Since the weather had been ideal and the forecast is great for next Sunday we have decide to extend the year one more week. We have 2 tee times starting at 9:10 am at Kellogg and we have 1 opening.

October 10 Golfnut News
Is it October? You would not have known it if you were playing golf on Sunday. Four golfers teed it up Sunday morning. It was a perfect day for golf. Tony King shot a 78 (41-37) for medalist honors. September 26th Golfnut News
Seven golfers teed it up at Donovan on Sunday. Wet conditions led to some inflated scores but City tournament player Gary Toubeau managed to score an 82 with a chip in birdie on number 10. The only other birdie for the day went to Bill Leroy on number 8. There is no golf scheduled next week and we will only continue to play if there is any interest from the group.

Only 6 shots separated the 1st and 12th place team. Ryan Samp and John Fleming edged out Benny Hayes and Rick Kirkbride in a scorecard playoff. Both team shot 68 but the tie was broken on the number one handicap hole which Ryan and John birdied. Tony and Billy King finished a distant 3rd at 69. Team B.King/T.King won the longest drive, Team Kirwan/Leroy won closest to the pin on 7 and Team McClintick/Floyd on 17 and Team Fleming/Samp won longest putt. The Hooters Cup is up for grabs in 10 days
Only six golfers braved the perfect conditions today to play Kellogg. Tony King was medalist shooting 79 with a birdie on 6. Dan Sordelet was one shot back with birdies on 2 & 15. Billy King birdied the tough number 4 and Jeff Pulfer birdied # 2. Selection Sunday will begin immediately following golf at Hooters. Next Sunday August 22nd is Reno's birthday. Tim McClintick posted 4 birdies on 3,6,13 and 18. Gary Toubeau had back to back birdies on 14 and 15. Dan Sordelet had birdies on 6 & 13. 10 golfers teed up on Sunday morning. Tony King shot a 78 for medalist honors. Dan Kirwan knocked one stiff on #17 for shot of the day and tapped in for birdie. Dan Sordelet chipped in for a birdie on 15. Steve McDowell birdied #13. Benny Hayes was sensational on the front 9 shooting 36 with a birdie on #8. June 6th Golfnut update
Only 5 golfnuts teed up this soggy Sunday morning. No carts was the story of the day which led to a dismal turnout. The course was extremely soggy and wet. Tony King shot an 81 for medalist honors with a birdie on 6. His approach shot stopped inches from the hole for a gimmie birdie. Dan Sordelet birdied # 8 & 12 chipping in on the par 3. Bob Kooy played the par threes on the back nine very tough knocking one close on the difficult #12 but missed the birdie putt. He redeemed himself on #17 by hitting his tee shot within 4 feet and making the birdie putt for shot of the day. There will be a "stop the rain" prayer meeting at Hooters following golf next Sunday. May 16th Eagle Ridge update
16 golfers enjoyed a 3 day golf trip at Eagle Ridge. We all agreed to return in 2011. Dusty Masching posted an 81 at the North on Sunday with the lone birdie on 18 for medalist. Danny Kirwan was sensational on Monday at the General posting 80 with 4 birdies on one of the toughest courses in the state. Tim McClintick was best on the South course with an 82 and 2 birdies. Seven different golfers cashed on greenies and 9 different golfers cashed on the Stableford prizes.

Golfnut update May 9th at Donovan


I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother's day. 11 golfers teed it up at Donovan on Sunday. It was a little cool in the morning but calm winds and sunshine helped turn the day into a perfect Mother's day for golf. Dusty Masching shot an 81 with birdies on 10 and 17 for medalist honors. Dan Kirwan had the only other birdie on 15. Shot of the day goes to Dusty for his chip in birdie on # 17. The golfnuts pack up their bags and head to Eagle Ridge in Galena IL for 3 days of golf. There is no golf scheduled in Peoria this Sunday. We will return to Kellogg for golf on May 23rd.

10 golfers teed it up at Kellogg on Sunday. The track was sloppy but the rain stayed away. Steve McDowell shot 79 with a birdie on # 8 for medalist honors. 14 golfers teed up on opening day. It was a perfect April morning which led to some excellent scores. Dan Sordelet and angler Steve McDowell shared medalist honors with 78.
